Needs geofence feature

App would be perfect if it included a geofencing feature.

Latest version cause phone to crash

Ever since downloading version 1.8.3, the app has been less reliable and crashes. I have been unable to open to app for two days because every time it crashes before loading the dashboard. Please fix this!

Much improved recently

I have always been a big fan of the Piper hardware. Unfortunately I had stopped using it due to a couple issues. One, there were frequent connection issues. This seems to mostly be a thing of the past. Two, the lack of any sort of ability to arm and disarm automatically based on time, location, etc. This latest update makes a big leap forward in that regard. I had never heard of Life360, but it seems to work well. The auto-arm feature based on location works great. It is not quite "auto" however. I would prefer an option to remove the requirement to acknowledge the arming and just trust it to arm itself. Also needs the ability to auto disarm upon coming home. Still, a big step towards making Piper as useful as I know it can be.

Overall a decent app, but no 6+ screen optimization.

Overall the layout and stability of the app is great. Really wish they would show they keep up with current tech by upgrading to an optimized version for 6+ screens and have an Apple Watch option too!

WoW!!!

After a good research, I decide to buy this camera, mostly to watch my dogs at home and less for security purposes. Among all cameras, this one was my best decision. Im giving only 1 star, because it seems that has security flaws and the customer support...well, there is no customer support!!! One night, while I was next to the camera and I was watching a movie, Ive noticed that the green led, turned to white!!! Oh yes, white color, which means that someone was connected and watching and for sure it wasnt me. I dont have hardware firewall, but Im using a MAC address filter to my Apple Airport Extreme, so I will decide which devices can be connected to the router. Im not sure if this router has a firewall, and Im not sure how easy it is someone to be connected to this camera, although the MAC filter. What I know, is that the led was white when Ive noticed and after some seconds it turned back to green, while I was almost with open mouth from the surprise that MAYBE someone was watching me. I contact the viper "ghost" customer support and I never get an answer!!! Im 100% sure that nobody else has the username and the password to be able to get connected to my camera from another mobile phone. Be aware!!! PS: ...and among all, with every single app update, they fix one bug, to create another one. After the last update (1.9.0 Z-Wave Plus Certification Support), the video buffering stays forever at 0%. That means no live steaming since it cannot buffer the video. WoW!!! Well done!!!

Security and video

I purchased the high quality Piper with night vision. I use it to watch a apartment I rent that is three hours away from my home in the desert. What I like about the Piper than the other camera devices is it as an audible alarm, a temperature feature to let me know if the desert heat is destroying my property and view of four different camera shots. What is missing is a built in SD card to store pictures of thefts. Other than that is is holding up great.

Good performance, needs consistency in away mode

The piper app performance is good. I can connect remotely and check in my dog at home. A weather alert even triggers when its freezing outside. When my dog triggers the motion detector in away mode, additional instances of movement are not indicated. I can walk up to the unit and wave, yet no notification of movement... Seems odd since it is a home security device. Zooming in on the home stats is also desirable.

Not ready for prime time.

When it works, its great. "When" being the operative word. Customer support consists of someone simply sending generic answers to specific problems.

The app stopped working mid Feb

What happened to Piper app all of a sudden!? It was always a bit slow to load, but now it says "connecting to piper" for at least 2-3 minutes and after it finally connects (barely) it says buffering with 0% progress. And it just stays there! What!? I now had Piper for almost 8 months and this is pretty bad. Instead of progressing and making your app better you guys are making it worse. I dont get it. It needs to be fixed fast.

Cant see Piper in wifi

Couldnt connect when we bought it. Months later (with a new phone and new wifi) still cant connect.

Great product brings peace of mind

Ive been using piper for 1 and a half years and Im very impressed how well it handles. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my home is secure and I can keep a close eye in my home from the office. It functions well with my door sensors and a light fixture I installed. I cannot recommend this app/product enough to my family and friends.
