Why is it sideways?

I have an iPad with a lovely stand that allows it to rest on my desk in an easy to use way.

So why does the iPad Piper app only display in portrait mode?

Really?!

Come on guys. Dont make me have to hold the device to use the app. 1-handed only works when you dont need to hold it with the other hand, and there are no iPad stands that keep it vertical. Needs a horizontal display mode.
